RUI is seeking to recruit a Controller to oversee the day to day accounting function of the organization, which includes monthly reporting and month-end close, journal entries, bank reconciliations and supervising AP & AR. Following this hire, the finance/accounting function will consist of a CFO, Controller (this position), AP clerk and AR clerk. The Controller will work alongside the CFO and provide assistance with process improvement initiatives for the finance department.

The Controller will also get exposure to M&A and greenfield expansion initiatives, though no prior experience in either is required. Individual must be hands on, growth oriented, capable of performing month end close procedures and assembling dashboards and KPI’s. The Controller will work alongside private equity firm (GRC) to assemble monthly Board reporting package. A construction background is ideal, but not required.

This Controller position is ideal for a driven individual seeking a controllership position at a growing, private-equity backed organization that will likely expand into several new markets and acquire several businesses in the next 5 years. Controller will report daily to a veteran CFO who has 30+ years of finance/accounting experience, including several executive-level positions at large private and publicly-traded construction and construction/program management companies.

• Supervise the company’s accounting, AR & AP operations, as well as:
• Closing the books and preparing month-end financials
• Preparing internal and external monthly financial statements
• Preparing daily, weekly or monthly financial reports and KPI dashboards
• Performing accounting, bookkeeping and basic cash-flow tasks
• Establishing policies and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure the integrity and accuracy of management reports
• Supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Assisting with or supervising payroll and tax reporting/compliance
• Upholding internal controls to guard against financial misreporting and fraud

KEY QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:

• 5 – 7 years of experience in accounting/finance roles
• Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Though not required, an ideal candidate would have prior experience working in a construction company or other business that utilizes percentage of completion (POC) accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting

• Operations experience
• Public Accounting background and / or CPA
• Internal Audit background and / or CPA
