TFG ( is a PE firm focused on consumer service businesses across North America. They are led by an experienced team with successes as both investors and operators (launching and growing early stage businesses). TFG is extremely purposeful about building their team and pride themselves on culture, passionate people and protecting the brand value of the businesses they invest within the heating, plumbing and HVAC industry.

TFG is very intentional about its personnel. This hire is required to (a) be a hands-on financial and accounting leader with a bias toward taking action, (b) bring zero ego, and (c) very willing and capable of handling ambiguity. Additionally, TFG is requiring 3+ years of management or supervisory work experience with a preference for 5+ yrs relevant finance, accounting or public accounting experience.

TFG's Seattle portfolio company, South West Plumbing ("SWP"), is looking to hire its finance and accounting leader. The Financial Controller will report directly to the GM / CEO and will be responsible for managing all aspects of finance, accounting and operational KPI's.

SWP employs 100+ professionals and is projecting growth over the next 5 years at 2x to 3x current revenues.

Financial Controller

The new team member will primarily be responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting and serving as a sounding board or advisor to the GM / CEO to navigate operating initiatives and financial outcomes.

  • Mike is very sharp (Virginia Darden MBA / Danaher GM Development grad) and invested in developing others
  • Responsible for all accounting and finance functions within the business (forecasting, budgeting, month-end, financial reporting, etc...)
  • Manage / develop a dedicated team (accounting manager, AP, AR, etc...)
  • Contribute to the bottom-line through the build and analysis of KPI's and financial management frameworks
  • We anticipate annual compensation will be between $140k to $180k

Job Description

South West Plumbing (SWP) is a full-service plumbing and sewer business based in Seattle, WA. SWP was founded in 1985, employs over 100 people, and is one of the best small businesses on the West Coast. The SWP brand is synonymous with exceptional service and integrity in all areas. 100% of SWP's work is focused on service and repair (i.e., no new construction) and is highly recession resistant. We service the entire Seattle area, from Everett in the north and past Tacoma in the southland with the support of Flint Group, which acquired SWP in June 2020, management intends to grow 100%-150%+ over the next five (5) years. The Controller will report to SWP's General Manager, Mike Soriano, with dotted-line reporting to Flint Group's VP of Finance, Andy Thomas
